Can you see?

2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV):   “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”   “The light of the glorious gospel of Christ”   which is what?   “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;    by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;    and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”   1 Corinthians 15:1-4. When was that gospel, that glorious gospel given by Paul to us wards was heard in a sermon from the pulpit?   When was it last heard in Sunday School?   When was it last heard in Christian programing of any sort.   Truthful

What is Scripture to You?

Psalms 119:105 (KJV):   “ Thy word  is  a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Recently, in a local fellowship, in a corporate meeting; Sunday School I was told that:   “I don’t like it when you read scripture.”   There were six in attendance, not one of the five gave support to the reading of scripture.   I was also accused of my own interpretation and it wasn’t appreciated either.   I followed with “all I did was read, I made no comment.”   “Well whatever I don’t like it, I want to hear what the teacher has to say and not what you read.” Scripture is what we must base all our faith in and what doctrines it establishes for the church today: “If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:”.   Church being the body of Christ spoken of by Paul,   and not the physical building or meeting place.   “All scripture  is  given by inspiration of God, and  is  profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction

Who crucified the Christ?

1 Corinthians 2:6-8 (KJV):   “ Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: but we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,  even  the hidden  wisdom , which God ordained before the world unto our glory: which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known  it , they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” Who crucified the Christ?   There isn’t a clear cut answer, there are several options that must be considered.   The longer I am allowed to grow in Christ, to see His grace and mercy towards me and the whole of the human race, the less I know.   The Roman empire carried out the desires of the Jewish nation, its National leadership.   “Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,   and consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill  him .” Ma

Salvation revisited

Romans 1:16 (KJV):   “ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” What is that path to salvation?   What does believeth mean?   Can a individual believe wrongly?   Is believing enough?   What must be believed? Who is to be believed?   Hard questions that must be answered but by whom comes the answer?   “But without faith  it is  impossible to please  him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and  that  he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 Then what is faith?   “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 OK then, how do I get faith to believe?   “So then faith  cometh  by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”   Romans 10:17 With faith then what am I to believe? Do I believe God or man? “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as
