Present sufferings

Romans 8:18  Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV):   " For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time  are  not worthy  to be compared  with the glory which shall be revealed in us." For   the life of me do I understand why believers in the body of Christ suffer such pain and cost by Doctors [all kinds and occupations] to stay alive.   My mother held to physical life to the point to where she was forced to live in pain and agony or go be with Christ.   Some of the trials man will go through to put off the inevitable is to me insanity.   Unless Christ returns before one leaves the mortal body, one will die.   If one believes scripture why will one hold to this fleeting life?   One will hold to this corruptible putting off physical death that will come.   "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption."   1 Corinthians 15:50. Even if one is alive at the comi

Once to die

Hebrews 9:27-28 [Authorized King James Bible 1611]:   "And as it is appointed once to die, but after this the judgement:   So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." With the passing of E Cummings, Rep from Maryland, these thoughts flood my mind.   Was he in Christ?   Being the first and foremost question.   I am reminded by "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,"   From that I know he knew.   But did he believe?   " But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe." Galatians 3:22.   What is the gospel that must be believed unto salvation then?   "Moreover brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;   By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory w

Purpose of Music

Amos 5:21-23   "I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.   Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept  them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.   Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols." Had the displeasure this past Sunday of seeing how perverted fellowships have become in worship and song: " God is a Spirit they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth ."   John 4:24.   This topic will be relating to music in fellowships and how perverted the "body" has allowed it to become perverted is humiliating to the body.   This is what has led to this weeks "Scripture of the Week" writing.   Background:   Music comes to us in three parts.   There is melody, rhythm and harmony.   Melody is sent from His Spirit to our spirit, the soul reacts with rhythm and the

How saved?

Ephesians 2:8a   [authorized King James version]   "For by grace are we saved through faith;"   Who's faith?   His or mine?   My understanding; we are saved by His faith and faithfulness to Himself, His Word and to us when believed [see note below].   When man rewrites scripture to fit his understandings he is placing himself in the ways of God.   No different than when satan enticed Eve with glorious words of grander and elevation in stature.   When God's Words are non-understandable, perplexing or hidden [1 Cor 2:7; Romans 16:25; Eph 3:3-4, 3:9, 5:32,6:19; Col 1:26-27, 2:2], we then by faith MUST! must, just believe what is written [1 Cor 2:14, 15:2b] understanding that the Word, is truly the inspired Word from and of God; it is impossible to separate God from His Word, either spoken or written.       The revealed mysteries given only to Paul to us [Eph 3:1-3], hidden before the apostles [the twelve] or prophets [of the old testament covenan
