What saith the Scripture

Leviticus 17:11 [AKJV]:   "For the life of the flesh  is  in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it  is  the blood  that  maketh an atonement for the soul." Hebrews 9:22 [AKJV]:   "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission." In Leviticus we see where life is at, "the life of the flesh is in the blood".   It had to be man's bloodshed to re-institute life into man.   "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,  as  silver and gold, from your vain conversation  received  by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" 1 Peter 1:18-19.   Again in Hebrews it is also written:   "But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is t

Mark 9:23-24 [AKJV]:   "Jesus said unto him, " If thou canst believe, all things  are  possible to him that believeth ". And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief ." I have heard from various individuals over time use this as a go-to verse in adversity.   I to was of the same mind, it sounded good to me.   But now after further understanding Christ's redemptive work on the cross for me I see it as a cop-out.   Looking back I now see it as self-righteousness if not a proud spirit.   I knew in my spirit I couldn't do this or that so I'd pray this verse looking for guilt relief.   I had not as of yet been taught that it's all Him and none of me.   I had failed by not getting into the scripture and seeing for myself what God had said to me about this and that [Romans 10:17].    I took other persons experiences that sounded good and tried to make them mine.   After all,
