Serving other gods?

2 Corinthians 10:12 (AKJV):   “For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”   2 Timothy 2:15 (AKJV):   “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”   note: ashamed when questions are asked and one can’t support what they say they believe with scripture.   If it, the comment or answer, isn’t backed by scripture it’s worthless.   Does God support what you think you know or what you know with scripture that He has spoken.   Acts 17:10-11 (AKJV):   “And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming  thither  went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those thi

Who Provides?

JEHOVAH-JIREH In Hebrew “JEHOVA-JIREH is defined as “The L ORD my Provider”.   The word “provider” as used here isn’t a given.   The item being provided must be believed to be authentic and is capable of doing what is promised. Until one believes God [ But without faith  it is  impossible to please  him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and  that  he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Heb 11:6] no spiritual and little physical profit is gained.   First then, what must one believe? That God is and what He says to an individual is important, is truth,   [Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word  is truth. John 17:17]. Next, that He is faithful to do as promised [ God  is  faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.   1 Cor 1:9          There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God  is  faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will

Apathetic? How be?

Romans 5:12-14 [AKJV]:   “ Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:    (for until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.    Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” with Galatians 6:1 {AKJV]:   “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” I on my knees write in all humility and meekness in the understanding   I have in relation to those verses.   When in the face of conversation with individuals and using scripture [in the context delivered, which I believe is pertinent to the discussion] find that most all are attentive and sincere.   But when offerings of further knowledge and insights, are rejec

Salvation doesn't end at the cross

1 Corinthians 15:17 (KJV) “And if Christ be not raised, your faith  is  vain; ye are yet in your sins.” Words in blue are not scripture but are added for clarity From what I read in scripture I fail to see where Christ’s death brings   salvation.   “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”   Romans   5:10.   From that verse I see that although being “reconciled to God” I still am not saved.   Being reconciled is what God did in removing what had divided us, but until believed (the gospel: His death, burial and resurrection) one is still lost, dead, spiritually.   “Who was delivered for our offenses and was raised again for our justification.” Romans 4:25.   Again being true but until believed it does no good in obtaining that eternal life.   “In whom the god ( satan ) of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel

Can satan hear ones prayers

Romans 8:26 (AKJV):   “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Should the believer, those in Christ being the body pray aloud? pray whispering or silently?   What sayeth the scripture? “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.”   Psalms 55:17 (praying aloud) “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen  do:  for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.” Matthew 6:7   (how not to pray) “And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.”   alone.” Matthew 14:23   (praying alone) “After this manner therefore pray ” Matthew 6:9         (prayer instruction) “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and  prayed , saying, O my Father, if it b
