One of many promises

Philippians 3:15 (KJV)   “ Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.” The word “perfect” here means “Specifically of persons meaning full age, adulthood, full grown.   In the NT, in knowledge of the truth”   as given in 1 Corinthians 2:6, 13:10; here Philippians 3:15 and Hebrews 5:14:   “in Christian faith and virtue (Eph 4:13)”   Strongs #5046 (II).   Paul is speaking to those within the body who have matured spiritually to be able to not only believe but with that believing, being able to understand, comprehend and then exercise, by faith that to the glory of God.   Most agree that we are not to twist and defame the “Word” but are to rightly divide the word of truth. I have of recent come across many if not most who will explain their position by relying on a commentary or what some man has said.   I have found them then to be:   “unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do

Having Opportunity

“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men , especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”  Galatians 6:10 “As we have opportunity” not that we are to go out and make things happen, but as we have opportunity.   So opportunity then or responding to: (for we walk by faith, not by sight: 2 Corinthians 5:7) responding to opportunities placed in our path (“ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6); are more profitable to mankind than us doing what we think is right.   Trusting, exercising faith, believing God, not doing our own thing:   “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,  which is  your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what  is  that good,

Understanding how scripture works

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.   Galatians 2:20 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?   Romans 7:24 Blessed  be  the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly  places  in Christ: Ephesians 1:3 Word in blue are not scripture Those three scriptures are all true.   Are they true only in there individual context or in the all of scripture?   Are those three scriptures spiritual, physical, or both, and if so how?   I understand “I am crucified with Christ:”   the next phrase verifies that belief:   “nevertheless I live;”   I’m alive both physically and spiritually.   I know this by faith, when I believed the gospel I was made alive in Christ:  “even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”   1 Cor

Context, context, context

Titus 2:11-15 (KJV):   “ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,    teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;    looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;    who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.” As Paul reminds Titus, by his (Paul’s) words we are reminded of the same.   Christ will return to gather those who are in Christ:   “For what  is  our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing?  Are  not even in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?” 1 Thessalonians 2:19.   Those who have believed the gospel and are in Christ are referenced as the body, the church, joint heirs, brothers, and sons.   But nowhe

Todays gospel that saves

Psalms 119:105 (KJV):   “Thy word  is  a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” What I would direct your attention too is “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,”   Most people I speak within the recent past concerning the King James Version (KJV). are anti-KJV.   Reasons given for disliking the KJV are varied but most comments pertain to being hard to understand due to antiquated language.   Also, questionable resources used to translate and wording which lacks flow as is common in today's language.   In that same way, I find few who still use the KJV are of such a mind to those opponents of the KJV.   I personally haven’t any issue with those who refuse to consider the KJV, but do ask them to give credible reasons for denying the legitimacy of KJV; when pressured haven’t heard a reasonable excuse as not to even try the KJV but will go on the defensive and most often become agitated at the questions. When one reads, does the one reading actually read or is on
