Just "BELIEVE"

1 Corinthians 1:17 Authorized (King James) Version   “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” Often I have asked people what happens when one dies, when you die where will you go?   The biggest question that I ask is “What do you think about Jesus Christ?”   Most often the reply is the same.   “I was baptized and so I’m OK?”   That gives me an opening to present the gospel.   “ Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;    by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;    and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Before Christ’s

Sickness and distress

2 Corinthians 4:4 [Authorized King James Bible]:   “ But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:    in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Does God place sickness, disease, loss of goods, or destroy what He may have given to an individual? The first chapter of Job shows how God has interactions with His created beings.   satan was given the latitude to oppress Job, but short of taking Job’s life [Job 2:6].   From that, I see that satan hast vast influence over the affairs of men.   Isn’t that what 2 Corinthians 4:4 reads?   Being a liar [John 8:44] satan is most capable of deceiving mankind, it’s his greatest tool if not entirely to keep mankind from believing God.   The fall of man is seen in Genesis and the how of is confirmed in Genesis 3. “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:”   John 1

To "rightly divide the word of truth'

John 8:31-32 [Authorized King James Version]   “ Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word,  then  are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free .” “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”   Romans 15:4.   All scripture is written for us but all scripture is not written to us .   “Of these things put  them  in remembrance, charging  them  before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit,  but  to the subverting of the hearers.    Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:14-15. We are to rightly divide scripture and adhere to the doctrine for us in this time, this dispensation.   We must ( continue in Hs Word ) by the Holy Spirit place scripture in the dispensation we presently liv

Not knowing isn't an excuse

1 Corinthians 14:38 [Authorized King James Version]:   “ But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.” To me, this is saying that I have God’s Word and by having it I have the ability to remove ignorance.   “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what  is  that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2.   I am to renew my mind {from worldly to spiritually].   How is this done? By believing God’s Word and applying what is read to the aspects of one's life in all situations.   In applying that one is to “Of these things put  them  in remembrance, charging  them  before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit,  but  to the subverting of the hearers.    Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:14-15.   How do I know that God’s Word is effective? We are instructed, “So then faith
