Do you love God, really?

John 14:23     Authorized (King James) Version “ Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” The first time direction to love God is in Deuteronomy 6:5   “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”   Also given in Mark 12:29-34 and Luke 10:27.    So then, do you love God as directed in scripture?   I know within myself I fall short of the command [Romans 3:23].   There is no way I can even come close in my judgment to fulfill this.   So what am I to do? I need to know, learn and understand what love is.   Where can I find out the answer to that question?   I read how God, in Romans 8:31-39 how I am loved, protected, and reassured in the love of God.   I am known of God as seen in 1 Corinthians 8:1-3   “Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puf

Did God say that ???

Genesis 15:6   Authorized (King James) Version:   “And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” Romans 4:3   Authorized (King James) Version    "For what saith the scripture?   “Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” Do you see the difference in those two verses?   When, whom, what, why are questions to ask.   Why did the Holy Spirit by Moses’s handwrite “he believed “IN” the Lord” and Paul by the same Holy Spirits wrote, “Abraham believed God”.   Why the difference? My understanding is this;   Abram had many interactions with God that were recorded by the Holy Spirit.   It took some time, as with us, to develop trust in God. “   So then faith  cometh  by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”   Romans 10:17 Ask yourself did you believe the very first time you heard?   I bet that when you did hear it wasn’t even the gospel that saves Paul gives for us today in this time [dispensation] of the grace of God.   It too

Don't read but study!

“ 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17   Authorized (King James) Version “ But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive  and  remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:    then we which are alive  and  remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”                                           as opposed to: 1 Corinthians 15:50-52   Authorized (King James) Version “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of

Which Body?

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things  done  in  his  body, according to that he hath done, whether  it be  good or bad. Ephesians 4:4 There is  one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; The word “body” has many definitions.   In 2 Corinthians 5:10, Strong’s #4983 defines body as “used in a very wide application”. First look at 2 Corinthians 5:10, and remove the italics.   Italics are not scripture but an addition made by the King James translators to make the flow of or the reading of easier.   So, without the italics;   “ For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things in body, according to that he hath done, whether good or bad.   My question was how do I define this word “body”.   Is it the physical body or as per Ephesians 4:4a; “There is one body” the body of Christ, the Church of which upon belief the
