Fear of death, no fear but faith prevails

2 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV):   “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” True life experience.   While out, I came across an acquaintance I had been with in a fellowship some time back.   His name is Bob, he reported that his wife of nearly fifty years had passed.   He explained his sorrow in her passing and then went on to say this.   The personnel in the hospital knew by Bobs witness that they were both in Christ, believers of the gospel.   She, his wife was kept heavily sedated and was most always comatose.   Just before she passed, with in minutes of her departure she became totally, fully awake, an elated smile came over her face with an unnatural glow and then passed.   I have always thought that when death comes those in Christ at that moment of passing experience the rapture.   They are removed from the bonds of time and are advanced miraculously to the eternal, they receive the experience of “

Praying: How?

Romans 8:26-27 (AKJV):   “ Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.   And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what  is  the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to  the will of  God.” Before 1990 most all prayers and praying was from the heart but have noticed recently that prayer is more apt to be taken from the world wide web (WWW).   People will find a sight online that tickles their fancy and use what a man has wrote.   The same goes for sermons.   Have seen once where a sermon was copied from the WWW and was given Sunday morning, in pretext to be theirs.   How can the Holy Spirit have a part in such goings on?   “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean  thing;  and I will receive you,” 2 Corinthians 6:17.        “Whe

"The way of salvation"

Acts 16:17 (KJV):   “The same which followed Paul and us, and cried, saying,   These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.”   What is the way of salvation?   I think that most of Christendom have missed the “way”.   We have conjured formulas, devised prayers, actions of works, all in an effort to come to God, to impress God, to make ourselves desirable to God.   But in our good intentions have failed miserably;   “By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain .” 1 Corinthians 15:2.   We have been taught that we must believe in Jesus.   What does that mean?   To believe in Jesus.   Then to answer, replying with John 3:16 or Romans 10:9-10, maybe 10:13 by themselves.   “For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet  have ye  not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.”   1 Corinthians 4:15   What is the road map that th

Knowing the nuts and bolts of salvation

1 Timothy 3:16-17   (AKJV):   All scripture  is  given by inspiration of God, and  is  profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:    that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. We believers, those of the true church of Christ, His body should all desire the truth of Gods Word.   We are directed for to:   “God is  a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship  him  in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24.    To worship one is to agree with God that they are sinners.   “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”   Romans 3:23.   Understand what God has done to remove that sin.   “ T o wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”   2 Corinthians 5:19.   Knowing how that reconciliation came.   “For he hath made him  to be  sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made t
