Why pray ? ? ?

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV):   “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.    And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Never paid it much mind before but of late, have;   I don’t hear “thanks” being given with prayer or supplications; there is a difference.   The reason we are to be thankful in giving prayer and supplication is that we have faith that we are being heard and much more than that our prayer will be answered.   I think most petitioners lack faith in their prayers and are remiss in giving of thanks when ones prayers/supplications are made.   Sidebar:   I have a lot of wants but no needs:   “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Jesus Christ”   Philippians 4:19.   Believing that then; “If I don’t have it I don’t need it.”   “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and

Who's prayer is heard?

John 9:31 (KJV):   “ Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.” Has the Church been drawn away from the preaching of the gospel?   Which is:   “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.   For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;   and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Being in the body of Christ I don’t know who is in the body or who isn’t.   But I do have God’s Word and can read.   By reading scripture can judge who is in Christ, the body and who isn’t. I listen to their confessions of faith and from that they give witness of truth against t

Do what for salvation?

Acts 16:29-31 (KJV):   “Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,   and brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?   And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Question of the ages to man, but now to us, today:   “if ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:”   Ephesians 3:2.   What won’t get one saved today?               1.   Giving your heart and life to Jesus               2.   Turning from your sin and receiving Christ             3.   Making Jesus the Lord of your life               4.   Having faith and keeping the sacraments (laws)             5.   Speaking in tongues, baptism in Jesus’s name with signs following                    giving evidence of salvation   (Mark 16:15-18)             6.   Keep Jesus’s sayings and the commandments (Matthew 19:16-17 What will save one

Which is What ???

John 3:3 (KJV):   “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again , he cannot see the kingdom of God.”   John 3:7 (KJV):   “ Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again .” 1 Peter 1:23 (KJV):   “ Being born again , not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”        OR? 2 Corinthians 5:17   (KJV):   “Therefore if any man  be  in Christ,  he is  a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Colossians 1:27 (KJV):   “To whom God would make known what  is  the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Ephesians 1:3 (KJV):   “Blessed  be  the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly  places  in Christ:” Is “being born again” for the church, the body of Christ today?   I would hope that
