Apathetic? How be?

Romans 5:12-14 [AKJV]:  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:  (for until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.”

Galatians 6:1 {AKJV]:   “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.”

I on my knees write in all humility and meekness in the understanding I have in relation to those verses.  When in the face of conversation with individuals and using scripture [in the context delivered, which I believe is pertinent to the discussion] find that most all are attentive and sincere.  But when offerings of further knowledge and insights, are rejected and most all remain aloof.

So then to the verse in this; “the scripture of the week” I see a parallel being a passive apathetic individual, an oh hum Christian to the spiritual.  The verse says “but sin is not imputed when there is no law.”  Or to say and understand other wise.  “If I stay ignorant then, will be judged less, and less will be held to my account.”

If that be true then if one is in Christ by admitting one was a sinner; “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23.  Believing what God has said, believing the gospel for us today:  “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”   1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Then being “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17.  Added to the “Body”, the church that is in Christ:  “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:13.  I do think if this be the way of those who profess being “a child of God” that there comings and goings would be “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts” Ephesians 4:22.  “Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” Philippians 1:27.  “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ”  Philippians 3:20.

Am I being heady and high minded?  I pray not.  All that I do, which is far less than am capable of, do fear that many that are if in the “body” will find theIr reward small, be of little worth, as with myself when:  “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”  2 Corinthians 5:10.

Sidebar:  Note that “his” is an italicized word, meaning that it wasn’t in the original text or manuscript.  Where as with out “his” reads: “that everyone may receive the things done in body (whose body if not Christ’s body?) “There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling.” Ephesians 4:4

Concerning this verse:  “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”  2 Corinthians 5:10. Those in Christ will give an account.  Some versions use the words “evil”, “worthless” and “not be good”.  About forty percent use the word “bad” or evil.  Nineteen percent used “worthless”, one percent used “not be good”.  Concerning the word “good”.  “And he [Jesus] said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God:” Matthew 19:17a.  To counter then with “not be good” or “evil” are considered opposites of good.  Concerning “worthless” I’m reminded of this passage “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;  every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” 1 Corinthians 3:10-15.

Sidebar:  The word “evil” from a known dictionary.  “morally reprehensible:
SINFUL, WICKED <an ~ impulse>.  If one be in Christ is that “evil”  applicable to the child of God?  Also, does it read  “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil”  or as some versions do say “good and bad”?  Sin has been dumbed down, and us with it, made less than as is, sins wage is death!  “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”  God has allowed satan, the devil to work his evil, not his “bad” even into our more “modern” bibles to work out his will: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:” John 10:10a.   “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”  2 Corinthians 4:3.

I do hope that one can see the word “bad” in 2 Corinthians 5:10 is not unto evil, but as written, in context to the whole verse, chapter, testament, and Bible.  ‘In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” Ephesians 1:7 and  “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”  Colossians 1:14.  John writing: “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”  John 1:29.  Did Christ take away the sin of the world? It's a yes or no question.  “When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?  But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.”  2 Corinthians 1:17-19; think that through.

Then to “body” would that be physical or spiritual.  If physical as most teach, would that also conflict with the opposing word evil [sinful} if in Christ?  If in Christ, Christ’s body, is not one free from sin? again think it through, is one in Christ secure or in unbelief lost.  I see what one is to be judged of at the judgment seat of Christ, but to judge of what one has done in the “body” of Christ.

Some will disagree with this understanding of mine.  If so, not to worry, “ye which are spiritual” have an obligation to love me, correct me and to reprove.  “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.”  Galatians 6:1

“Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,  cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:  and hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,  which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.  For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,  of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;  that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,  unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”  Ephesians 1:15-23 with 3:14-21.

If one thinks that I am in need of prayer, I would hope that one would pray this to God for me.

Was he saved? How?

“The heart  is  deceitful above all  things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”J eremiah 17:9   “ He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.” Psalm 24:4   All scripture references are taken from the Authorized (King James) Versions unless other wise noted. There was a man who once lived alone, he was what is often called a hermit a vagabond.   He had never been told of God, Jesus or the gospel as given from the Bible. He knew in his heart, that there was something, something outside himself, something was needed to make himself complete.   Several years previously while scrounging and looking for anything useful he discovered a Bible.   He put it away, safely where he lived and forgot about it.   Some years later there was a harsh winter storm, frozen deep snow had completely shut him in.   Although secure in his abode and safe from the destructive winter he would survive.   He had no electricit

Concluding then?

I  have been doing these on this platform for now on 4 years.  Before I used other platforms since 2010 or thereabouts.  I have never had one question and only one comment in all those years.  I did have one correction when one reader observed that I had referenced 1 Corinthians when actually I should have used 2 Corinthians, that was about six or seven years ago.    I now place my thoughts and understandings on Facebook  In His service;   James Brown

Why the "authorized" KJV?

"Wherefore art thou  red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat."  Isaiah 63:2 [in context read 63:1-6]  " A certain man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it , and digged a place for the winefat,"  Mark 12:1b and c.   While listening to a recent TV minister I observed what I thought at the time a miss-spelling in the text of the Bible I currently use, in which I have found several.  It's a King James Version "Authorized", and have often wondered what's the difference between the given as "authorized" and the other not.   After some research and consideration, I saw this.  Thinking it was a textural error I checked several other KJV authorized and non-authorized finding they all used the word winevat.  But the authorized used both "vat" and "fat".  So why the disparity in the spelling and only used in those two places in scripture? To me, it was getting interesting.  I have lear
