Fear of death, no fear but faith prevails

2 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV):   “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” True life experience.   While out, I came across an acquaintance I had been with in a fellowship some time back.   His name is Bob, he reported that his wife of nearly fifty years had passed.   He explained his sorrow in her passing and then went on to say this.   The personnel in the hospital knew by Bobs witness that they were both in Christ, believers of the gospel.   She, his wife was kept heavily sedated and was most always comatose.   Just before she passed, with in minutes of her departure she became totally, fully awake, an elated smile came over her face with an unnatural glow and then passed.   I have always thought that when death comes those in Christ at that moment of passing experience the rapture.   They are removed from the bonds of time and are advanc...

Praying: How?

Romans 8:26-27 (AKJV):   “ Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.   And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what  is  the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to  the will of  God.” Before 1990 most all prayers and praying was from the heart but have noticed recently that prayer is more apt to be taken from the world wide web (WWW).   People will find a sight online that tickles their fancy and use what a man has wrote.   The same goes for sermons.   Have seen once where a sermon was copied from the WWW and was given Sunday morning, in pretext to be theirs.   How can the Holy Spirit have a part in such goings on?   “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not th...

"The way of salvation"

Acts 16:17 (KJV):   “The same which followed Paul and us, and cried, saying,   These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.”   What is the way of salvation?   I think that most of Christendom have missed the “way”.   We have conjured formulas, devised prayers, actions of works, all in an effort to come to God, to impress God, to make ourselves desirable to God.   But in our good intentions have failed miserably;   “By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain .” 1 Corinthians 15:2.   We have been taught that we must believe in Jesus.   What does that mean?   To believe in Jesus.   Then to answer, replying with John 3:16 or Romans 10:9-10, maybe 10:13 by themselves.   “For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet  have ye  not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten...

Knowing the nuts and bolts of salvation

1 Timothy 3:16-17   (AKJV):   All scripture  is  given by inspiration of God, and  is  profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:    that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. We believers, those of the true church of Christ, His body should all desire the truth of Gods Word.   We are directed for to:   “God is  a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship  him  in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24.    To worship one is to agree with God that they are sinners.   “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”   Romans 3:23.   Understand what God has done to remove that sin.   “ T o wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”   2 Corinthians 5:19.   Knowing how that r...

Whose faithful?

"God is faithful,"  1 Cor 1:9;  "But the Lord is faithful,"  2 Thess 3:3;  " I'm sure not but He is.  When I fail He doesn't, He is faithful.  When I'm distraught, being weak in faith, He is faithful.  I will, can, must depend upon Him in all that I do; Looking for that blessed hope, the soon appearing of my great God and Savior, the LORD Jesus Christ.  He is my life, for I was crucified with Christ and risen, I no longer live now, but the life I now have is by His faithfulness to me that I have my being.  He is faithful to Himself, He can't deny Himself.  He is faithful to His Word that He cannot be separated from. I'm not in Him by anything I could have done, its all His work, it's all about Him and none of me; it came as a gift, a free gift.  I can't take pride in anything,  but to glory in Him.  For all things were made by Him and for Him, in Him all things are. It's impossible for Him to lie, in Him is no dark...

Defining Light

“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”   Gen 1:3 Please notice that there was light but what was the source of that light?   It isn’t until verse 14 that we see what is believed to be the source.   “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,   And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.   And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.”   Genesis 1:14-19. But what was the source before the fourth ...

Believing in Vain, is it possible?

1 Corinthians 12:13 (KJV):   “ For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” “For by ONE Spirit and ONE body and have been all made to drink into ONE Spirit.   “There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; o ne Lord, one faith, one baptism,   One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”   Ephesians 4:4-6.   Was recently told that they knew they were saved because of certain feelings they had in their spirit when they believed.   Another said that when they were baptized (water) they were born again.   I asked for Book, chapter, and verse;   they assured me that they would find it and give me the info.   It’s not about who’s right but what’s right .   Either I’m lost, still dead in my sin or they are.   Most all who hav...
