Fear of death, no fear but faith prevails

2 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV):  “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”

True life experience.  While out, I came across an acquaintance I had been with in a fellowship some time back.  His name is Bob, he reported that his wife of nearly fifty years had passed.  He explained his sorrow in her passing and then went on to say this.

The personnel in the hospital knew by Bobs witness that they were both in Christ, believers of the gospel.  She, his wife was kept heavily sedated and was most always comatose.  Just before she passed, with in minutes of her departure she became totally, fully awake, an elated smile came over her face with an unnatural glow and then passed.

I have always thought that when death comes those in Christ at that moment of passing experience the rapture.  They are removed from the bonds of time and are advanced miraculously to the eternal, they receive the experience of “shall be caught up” given in  1 Thessalonians 4:17.

They also experience “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”
I have often thought and even said that I hope when I pass I will be completely awake and get to experience the tearing away, the parting of my mortal body and my eternal spirit.  Then to have the rapture revealed in visual understanding, seeing Jesus coming in the clouds of glory and forever being with Christ.  The trials and sorrows of life and then death consumed by the glory of the immortal.

Bobs witnessed answer to that question of mine as to being coherent at death if in Christ.  I had asked this many years ago but had at that time not received an answer.  Now, much later have received the answer.  I have grown and God saw fit for my request to be revealed.  Thank You Jesus for now revealing the answer I sought.

Believe God

Galatians 2:16  Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV): “ K nowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” Why is it so hard for man just to believe God?   Most don’t even believe that He is.   “But without faith  it is  impossible to please  him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and  that  he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6.   All God has ever wanted from man was just to be believed.   But as with Adam and Eve in the garden; “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”   2 Corinthians 4:4.   Why the ...

Rightly divided or handling ???

2 Timothy 2:14-16     Authorized (King James) Version:   “ Of these things put  them  in remembrance, charging  them  before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit,  but  to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane  and  vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.” There is in the military a directive that when one receives conflicting orders one will follow the last order given.   Really that makes a lot of sense to one who has sense, but therein lies the rub. Background:   the phrase above in verse “15” reads “rightly dividing the word of truth”.   Modern versions will read “rightly handling” instead of “dividing”.   Those two words have different meanings as seen in Hebrews 4:12 “even to dividing asunder”.   If a person d...

Risen? really; who said.

1 Corinthians 15:17 [AKJV]:   " And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins." When questions are asked of others, like;   "Why do you think you are saved?" or "Where will you go when you die?".   "How do you have assurance of eternal life?".   When I ask these and other questions concerning one's eternal condition I will get a multitude of replies.   Although to many to write out here but the number one response is generally that "Jesus died for our sins."   Very seldom is the reply followed with and arose the third day.   The gospel that we are saved by to day is mostly incomplete when witnessed to others.   The resurrection is also important as given by Paul to us today.   "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, un...
