Philippians 2:13 (KJV) “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
It is our responsibility to allow God to be God in our lives; we needn’t worry of our situations, we need to learn: “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” 2 Timothy 1:12. What things do we suffer? Does it matter, really in the light of eternity what is our present suffering, large or small: “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18. Do we not have a promise from God concerning trails: “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13. Where as when those temptations come we would seek Gods face for wisdom it that trial and be open to His Spirit to teach us through it to: “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:29. But most often (myself included) start being a Isreal impressionist, with all our complaining and making excuses to God trying to make it His fault for our situation.
In this vain Paul instructs those who will listen this: “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy 6:6-10. Then to the Philippians Paul wrote: “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” Philippians 4:11. Paul knew of what he spoke: “Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also. Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I. Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, inperils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.” 2 Corinthians 11:21-27. The writer of Hebrews added: “Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.” Hebrews 12:4.
All of this written is useless if one ins’t in Christ. If what is written here is invalid in ones life experience one may very well be out of the body of Christ. If one thinks that may be the case I invite one to believe who Jesus is, God in flesh, mans saviour and to the believe the gospel that will save. “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. But one must believe, truly believe that God did raise Jesus from the dead, that Jesus’s sacrifice on that cross was done in one’s place, that He was buried and did in fact rise again, the only begotten of the Father for to provide salvation. I implore one to believe God, believe Jesus and believe God’s Word to humanity.
