No more old man; but a new creature

John 3:18-21Authorized (King James) Version:   “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”

Paul wrote: “who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”  So what is that keeps man from the truth?  I believe it to be pride, the same thing that caused Lucifer to fall, Isaiah 14:12:14.  Verse 11 of that passage “Thy pomp” which could be interpreted or defined as “pride” is what first welled up in him.  That pride was instilled in Adam when he fell and disobeyed God through unbelief.  That seed planted today is called that “old man”  as opposed to the new “creature” of 2 Corinthians 5:17.  Paul used it to define the old and new nature of man being the old man to sin and new man unto God.  This part of that mystery was revealed to all and never before revealed because it was hid [1 For 2:7; Eph 1:4; 2 Tim 1:9 and Titus 1:2].  We see that old man nature in very young children; the way they act, talk, fight and whine when they don’t get what they want when.  That nature isn’t taught it is there because we being in Adam have that nature he, Adam, received until God removes it and makes us new.  Now I'm a two natured “old man flesh” and “new man spirit”  having to live with but not be ruled by: “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”  Then get to spend the rest of our natural lives learning what we were and who He has made us in Him.  I mustn't reject the ticket but should enjoy the ride.

But when that light [John 1:9] shined on me I realized I was in trouble it scared me near unto death, but as of yet not knowing what death I was speaking of.  But when I read the Bible, and it told me I was dead and that Christ:  “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  I knew I needed that life that was offered.  So then I later found the scripture that gave me what John speaks of in John 3:16 writing: “whosoever believeth in him” but believe what in him.  “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.  When I believed that, that Christ died for me, for James, that He was buried for me, James and that He arose again for me, for James I was made a new creature in Christ.  2 Corinthians 5:17.  I was baptized spiritually by the Holy Spirit into Christ, His body 1 Cor 12:12-13.  I was eternally sealed with the holy Spirit of promise into that body, and the inheritance [all that implies Eph 1:3 and following] until I am given that new body which has never seen sin nor will see death for all eternity.

Do what to be saved?

Acts 16:29-31 Authorized King James Version [AKJV]:   'Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said Sirs, what must I do to be saved?   And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."   The question that has plagued man thought out history; what must one believe to be saved?   Believe the gospel which is what?   " Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1Corinthains 15:1-4.   To believe that t...

Which Body?

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things  done  in  his  body, according to that he hath done, whether  it be  good or bad. Ephesians 4:4 There is  one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; The word “body” has many definitions.   In 2 Corinthians 5:10, Strong’s #4983 defines body as “used in a very wide application”. First look at 2 Corinthians 5:10, and remove the italics.   Italics are not scripture but an addition made by the King James translators to make the flow of or the reading of easier.   So, without the italics;   “ For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things in body, according to that he hath done, whether good or bad.   My question was how do I define this word “body”.   Is it the physical body or as per Ephesians 4:4a; “...

Sin; what sin?

Romans 6:14a [Authorized King James Version]:   "For sin shall not have dominion over you:"   So then if sin "shall not" it has to be a conscious decision to do or not to do.   The more knowledge one has of God's Word the less apt one is to sin, exercise unbelief: " And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:   Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;   Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged." John 16:8-11.   Verse 9 states that the sin, the worlds sin [from verse 8] is unbelief in Him and of His death, burial and resurrection (DBR) for the payment of ones sin.   That is the gospel that is presented for salvation now!   " If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:" Ephesians 3:2.   "But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye...
