"deceitful workers" ???

2 Corinthians 11:12-14 [AKJV]:  "But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

1 John 4:1 [AKJV]:  "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

Kanye West with Joel Osteen, look at all the people, look at what he proclaims then ask is it scriptural?  Is the gospel proclaimed which is what?  "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.  I've heard a lot of praise and glory being given out  to each other but no "worship him in spirit and in truth." {Jo 4:24}.

How does one worship in spirit and truth?  Knowing the gospel that saves and then believing that gospel that saves.  Followed with "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness." 2 Timothy 2:15-16.

Man will go to the Doctor to be made physically well.  See the Dentist when he has a toothache.  To the eye specialist when one can't see and the mechanic to get his vehicle repaired.  So it stands to reason a man will seek out the clergy for spiritual instruction.  But man refuses to read for himself what God has spoken to man through His written Word.  To amplify this point "And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:  for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."  Mark 13:5-6.  This can be taken in one of two ways.  First:  That Jesus is the Christ, the living, walking, breathing Son of God.  But then teach and preached a perverted gospel [Gal 1:6-10]  Secondly:  that they that are speaking, here, in fact, are themselves are Christ, Messiah, and there are many.  Using your search engine go to "List of people claimed to be Jesus- Wikipedia" and see for yourself.  Are there any listed who should be considered?  No, why then are there thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands or millions who do believe a lie.   Then added to this following the lie  "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen."  Romans 1:25.

This is a frightful thought but one will either "appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."  2 Corinthians 5:10 [see *note 1].   Or appear at the great white throne as given in Revelation 20:11-15.  One won't be there with his or her pastor.  Won't have a recorder to playback what one heard.  There won't be a library of all the books that one has read who had either proclaimed truth [what you wanted to believe] but only the Word of God.

*note 1:  the words "done, his, it be" from verse 2 Corinthians 5:10 are in Italics.  One should read without the Italics to see how it was actually written in scripture the Authorized King James Version.  One hopefully will see and understand that the meaning has changed.  The italics were added by translators to facilitate the flow when reading but were not in the manuscripts which the text was taken from.  Greater detail is given in the recently released book titled "What Saith the Scripture"  ISBN 978-1-64569-856-2 [paperback]  or 978-1-64569-857-9 [digital].

You and you alone are responsible to God for what you believe or don't believe.  Be reminded there is only a remnant that believes the truth.  Eight at the flood, Abram only * [Galatians 3:6},  Joseph's parents and eleven brothers, two at the entering of Israel to Cannan. Rahab at Jericho.  One hundred twenty in the upper room out of thousands who had heard.  So what about you?  Will you seek and pray, discover truth and be in the remnant or will be lost for all eternity.   Chose wisely, chose now, chose the LORD Jesus Christ and be saved.

* Abram "And he believed in the LORD, and he [the LORD] counted it to him for righteousness."  Genesis 15:6.  Whereas Paul writes it this way:  "Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."  Look closely at the wording;  Abram believed in and Paul writes believed, I understand it this way.  From experience of Abram seeing God in the way he did "believed in the LORD". and did what was commanded, faith and works.  Today we only believe, not from following commands and doing but faith plus nothing.  Ephesians 2:5-10 supports this belief.

Eternal or Everlasting life; which is it?

John 3:16 (KJV)   “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life .” Why everlasting life, why not eternal life?   is there a difference and if so what? Most resources I have available were of the opinion that they are the same.   I needed to dig deeper.   I soon found that all of man’s ideas on the subject were based on their opinion and very little scripture if any, then the easily discounted.   If I am to find the answer I seek, which is truth; I need to consult scripture.   Words in blue aren’t scripture. “Let a man so account of us ( Paul and his fellow workers ), as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.   1 Corinthians 4:1.   So I was right to search the scriptures concerning my question: to find this answer in His Word. When I started this word study the first thing I noticed was that the most sig...

Importance of Resurrection

1 Corinthians 15:17  Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV):   “ And if Christ be not raised, your faith  is  vain; ye are yet in your sins.” I am amazed at how ignorant most are of their salvation.   I will ask “Why, do you think you’ll go to heaven?” or   What happens when you die?”   ninety nine out of a hundred will answer with “Jesus died for my sins.”   True; “Jesus died for the sins of the world, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”   John1:29b.   That is most true but also is “and if Christ be not raised, your faith  is  vain; ye are yet in your sins.”   Jesus had to die for the purpose of removing sin, “to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”   2 Corinthians 5:19.   But this reconciliation can only come when one believes the gospel as pres...

When did the "Church" begin for us today ? ? ?

1 Timothy 1:15-16  (King James Version 1611):  " This is  a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief (first, beginning Strong's Concordance # 4413).  Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him for life everlasting. The "Church" didn't start with Peter and his presentation of Acts 2:38.  The "Church" started when Paul was on the Damascus Road.  Then it took numerous years in the desert for Paul to come to the understanding of "Faith plus nothing" (Les Feldick).  We are saved by grace through faith, who's faith (Romans 1:17)? "For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,  If you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation (Galatians 1:11-12) he ma...
