How saved?

Ephesians 2:8a  [authorized King James version]  "For by grace are we saved through faith;"

Who's faith?  His or mine?  My understanding; we are saved by His faith and faithfulness to Himself, His Word and to us when believed [see note below].  When man rewrites scripture to fit his understandings he is placing himself in the ways of God.  No different than when satan enticed Eve with glorious words of grander and elevation in stature.

When God's Words are non-understandable, perplexing or hidden [1 Cor 2:7; Romans 16:25; Eph 3:3-4, 3:9, 5:32,6:19; Col 1:26-27, 2:2], we then by faith MUST! must, just believe what is written [1 Cor 2:14, 15:2b] understanding that the Word, is truly the inspired Word from and of God; it is impossible to separate God from His Word, either spoken or written.

The revealed mysteries given only to Paul to us [Eph 3:1-3], hidden before the apostles [the twelve] or prophets [of the old testament covenant] spake of these things because they were hidden, like as seen here in Luke's account:  Luke 18:31-34  "Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: and they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.  Also as written in Deuteronomy 29:29  "The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us [mankind] and to our children [Israel] for ever, that we may do all the words of this law."

So then, when man doesn't understand what is written by God and refuses to believe God and what God has said [had written Ephesians 3:5, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and 2 Peter 1:21] man's pride kicks in and he, man, will explain and render what he thinks God was actually saying and inspiring those to write what was really said.  "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things."   Romans 1:21-23.

God ain't playing when it comes to what He has said and revealed to man.  "In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my [Paul's] gospel."  Romans 2:16.  God has spoken it and expects man to believe!

Thank You LORD for Your Word to me.  It "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."  Psalms 119:105

Fear of death, no fear but faith prevails

2 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV):   “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” True life experience.   While out, I came across an acquaintance I had been with in a fellowship some time back.   His name is Bob, he reported that his wife of nearly fifty years had passed.   He explained his sorrow in her passing and then went on to say this.   The personnel in the hospital knew by Bobs witness that they were both in Christ, believers of the gospel.   She, his wife was kept heavily sedated and was most always comatose.   Just before she passed, with in minutes of her departure she became totally, fully awake, an elated smile came over her face with an unnatural glow and then passed.   I have always thought that when death comes those in Christ at that moment of passing experience the rapture.   They are removed from the bonds of time and are advanc...

Which Body?

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things  done  in  his  body, according to that he hath done, whether  it be  good or bad. Ephesians 4:4 There is  one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; The word “body” has many definitions.   In 2 Corinthians 5:10, Strong’s #4983 defines body as “used in a very wide application”. First look at 2 Corinthians 5:10, and remove the italics.   Italics are not scripture but an addition made by the King James translators to make the flow of or the reading of easier.   So, without the italics;   “ For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things in body, according to that he hath done, whether good or bad.   My question was how do I define this word “body”.   Is it the physical body or as per Ephesians 4:4a; “...

Who Provides?

JEHOVAH-JIREH In Hebrew “JEHOVA-JIREH is defined as “The L ORD my Provider”.   The word “provider” as used here isn’t a given.   The item being provided must be believed to be authentic and is capable of doing what is promised. Until one believes God [ But without faith  it is  impossible to please  him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and  that  he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Heb 11:6] no spiritual and little physical profit is gained.   First then, what must one believe? That God is and what He says to an individual is important, is truth,   [Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word  is truth. John 17:17]. Next, that He is faithful to do as promised [ God  is  faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.   1 Cor 1:9          There hath no temptation taken you but such as is...
