Being a good ambassador

Galatians 6:10 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV):    As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
For those who are in the body of Christ [1Cor 12:13] have a mandate, a responsibility to fulfill.  We are not directed to preach to tens or hundreds of people.  Not to by the power of the Lord Jesus Christ to heal the sick, hearing of the deaf or sight to the blind.  We are not to a power house of religious doctrine and turn the hearts of the lost to Christ.  But we are to as we have opportunity do good unto all men.  We are to do good to those who are of the household of faith.
How does one discern what God would have one to do?  To start with how about what Paul directs here:  “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”  2nd Corinthians 5:20.
Who appoints an ambassador?  Who sends an ambassador?  What is the requirements for being an ambassador?
Christ appoints, The Holy Spirit sends, and God the Father sets the requirements.  We need to if in Christ [2 Corinthians 5:17] know who we are in Him.  It is near impossible to be a good ambassador if one doesn’t know the culture and language of the ones one is sent to.
We need to “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”  2 Timothy 2:15.  One needs to know why they are in Christ, how that transpired, if one can lose it.  One needs to understand basic Bible doctrines presented by Paul {Ro 11:13].  “If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 14:37.
To me the biggest thing is to know how to hear the Holy Spirit when He speaks.  This is a place where one will never quit growing.  Learning how to hear and trusting to know when He is speaking.  Don’t be afraid in getting it wrong at times, one will.  But to keep learning how to listen.  One needs to start small by reading God’s Word and by associating Isaiah’s guidance to ones life experiences:  “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line;
here a little, and there a little:” Isaiah 28:10.  Then with that:
 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”  2 Timothy 2:15.
Study to learn why one is approved by God, so as not to be ashamed by having a poor understanding of God’s dispensation of His grace.  Then one will not be ashamed when one has rightly divided the word of truth.

Rightly divided or handling ???

  2 Timothy 2:14-16     Authorized (King James) Version:   “ Of these things put  them  in remembrance, charging  them  before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit,  but  to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane  and  vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.” There is in the military a directive that when one receives conflicting orders one will follow the last order given.   Really that makes a lot of sense to one who has sense, but therein lies the rub. Background:   the phrase above in verse “15” reads “rightly dividing the word of truth”.   Modern versions will read “rightly handling” instead of “dividing”.   Those two words have different meanings as seen in Hebrews 4:12 “even to dividing asunder”.   If a person d...

God's good pleasure in you

Philippians 2:13 (KJV)   “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of  his  good pleasure.” It is our responsibility to allow God to be God in our lives; we needn’t worry of our situations, we need to learn:   “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”   2 Timothy 1:12.   What things do we suffer?   Does it matter, really in the light of eternity what is our present suffering, large or small:   “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time  are  not worthy  to be compared  with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”   Romans 8:18.   Do we not have a promise from God concerning trails:   “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God  is  faithful, w...

Whose faithful?

"God is faithful,"  1 Cor 1:9;  "But the Lord is faithful,"  2 Thess 3:3;  " I'm sure not but He is.  When I fail He doesn't, He is faithful.  When I'm distraught, being weak in faith, He is faithful.  I will, can, must depend upon Him in all that I do; Looking for that blessed hope, the soon appearing of my great God and Savior, the LORD Jesus Christ.  He is my life, for I was crucified with Christ and risen, I no longer live now, but the life I now have is by His faithfulness to me that I have my being.  He is faithful to Himself, He can't deny Himself.  He is faithful to His Word that He cannot be separated from. I'm not in Him by anything I could have done, its all His work, it's all about Him and none of me; it came as a gift, a free gift.  I can't take pride in anything,  but to glory in Him.  For all things were made by Him and for Him, in Him all things are. It's impossible for Him to lie, in Him is no dark...
