Last Sunday {March 17th, 2019] a comment was made concerning King Solomon. The discussion was of Solomon not having awareness of a Savior. That was why he had such a hard time coming to grips with the worlds way.
The comment made was that Christ Jesus had not been yet born and that was why he was having such a time. For me to accept that is to deny Him. Was Christ, Israel’s Messiah known before Solomon? To deny that Christ existed {not yet born physically] is to deny the Trinity.
Here are verses that will help in understanding.
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:” Deuteronomy 6:4
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” John 8:5
“Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.” Galatians 3:16
“For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:”
Job 19:25-26
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:23”Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 and he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;” Colossians 1:12-19
“Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” Colossians 2:7-10
“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19
“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” John 14:9-10
Probably most exacting to our comment would be:
“And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.” John 1:31.” Until manifested and identified by John the Baptist, Jesus was, but not known in the physical. There are many verses that depict Jesus as God, but this should be enough. To say that Jesus the Christ wasn't until His birth
Thank You for making me go look and too find [again] those scriptures that pertaineth to who Jesus was, is and will be.
