How I died

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.   Read the context though:   Romans 3:21-31; to get the full impact of God's Word to us as given by Paul. I sinned by association "For as in Adam all die", I sinned being in Adam.   I'm not a sinner because I sin [my actions] I sin because I am [was] a sinner, being in Adam.   "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."   John 10:10.   "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;"   1 Timothy 1:15.   The L ORD Jesus Christ came to save sinners by giving them life, His life {salvation, being saved from something to something i.e.. death to life}.   He did this by dying, being buried and rising again the third day, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.   " And almost all things ...

Judgement comes to all!!!

2 Corinthians 5:10 [Authorized King James Version]:   " For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." Man will stand in judgement of God either at the Great White Throne of Revelation 20:11-20 or at this "judgement seat of Christ" for reward.   True, we are saved from the eternal wrath of God through the death, burial and resurrection of the L ORD Jesus Christ when we believe [1 Corinthians 15:1-4].   But then are to be ambassadors of this, the life giving, saving Christ Jesus [2 corinthians 5:20].   What is the purpose of the ambassador?   He or she is an exact representation of the one who sent, in this the L ORD Jesus Christ.   Then as an ambassador we are to give voice to the act's and works of Him on our behalf.   What might those acts look like that we acknowledged, responded to and then believed; me per...

Risen? really; who said.

1 Corinthians 15:17 [AKJV]:   " And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins." When questions are asked of others, like;   "Why do you think you are saved?" or "Where will you go when you die?".   "How do you have assurance of eternal life?".   When I ask these and other questions concerning one's eternal condition I will get a multitude of replies.   Although to many to write out here but the number one response is generally that "Jesus died for our sins."   Very seldom is the reply followed with and arose the third day.   The gospel that we are saved by to day is mostly incomplete when witnessed to others.   The resurrection is also important as given by Paul to us today.   "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, un...

Why the Blood?

Leviticus 17:11 [AKJV]:   "For the life of the flesh  is  in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it  is  the blood  that  maketh an atonement for the soul." Hebrews 9:22 [AKJV]:   "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission." In Leviticus we see where life is at, "the life of the flesh is in the blood".   It had to be man's bloodshed to re-institute life into man.   "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,  as  silver and gold, from your vain conversation  received  by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" 1 Peter 1:18-19.   Again in Hebrews it is also written:   "But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater...

Baptism that counts?

1 Corinthians 12:13 [King James Version]:   " For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether  we be  Jews or Gentiles, whether  we be  bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit." Scripture is in bold print: "For by one [revealed in three persons i.e. "trinity"] one Spirit [Father, Son [as Jesus of Nazareth] and Holy Spirit] are we all [those who have believed Paul's gospel given in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4] baptized [Strong's # 911, immersed, whelmed i.e. engulfed completely, into His Body, the Church]   into one body [Ephesians 4:4-6, that one body explained. Also further explained in Ephesians 5:30-33] , whether  we be  Jews or Gentiles [Galatians 3:23; Ephesians 2:13-16; Colossians 3:11] , whether  we be  bond or free; and have been all [again by believing the gospel] all made [made to; forced into that body, we have nothing to do with entering into the "body" of Christ] made to drink...

I want it, I need it, just have to have it !

1 Timothy 6:6 (Authorized King James):   "But godliness with contentment is great gain."   Supporting scriptures:   1 Timothy 6:7-8; Matthew 6:33; Romans 13:14; Philippians 4:10-20; Hebrews 13:5 [written to Hebrews].   Strong's #841, i.e. "contentment"   word used only once and that by Paul to us Gentiles our Apostle to give to us what was revealed to him.   Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want but is the realization of what you already have in the L ORD Jesus Christ.   [unknown author]] Sidebar:   The word "Christ"   Strong's   #5547 which has a long and varied definition.   In short defined as Messiah, redeemer; "an epithet of Jesus:--   Christ".     Continuing then, I do not desire to be without, I'd prefer not to be tested in this manner but if God should allow whatever to come "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I...

Believing then; believing now.

Mark 9:23-24 [AKJV]:   "Jesus said unto him, " If thou canst believe, all things  are  possible to him that believeth ". And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief ." I have heard from various individuals over time use this as a go-to verse in adversity.   I to was of the same mind, it sounded good to me.   But now after further understanding Christ's redemptive work on the cross for me I see it as a cop-out.   Looking back I now see it as self-righteousness if not a proud spirit.   I knew in my spirit I couldn't do this or that so I'd pray this verse looking for guilt relief.   I had not as of yet been taught that it's all Him and none of me.   I had failed by not getting into the scripture and seeing for myself what God had said to me about this and that [Romans 10:17].    I took other persons experiences that sounded good and tried to make ...
