Until ???

1 Corinthians 15:1-4  [AKJV]: "Moreover brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he arose again the third day according to the scripture."

Until one believes God is and that He is the answer to the human need nothing else matters.  Try as hard as we would it won't work until God is believed and is made first in all we say and do.  "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."  Proverbs 3:5-6.  God has said by all that "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."  Romans 3:23  Also in Romans says: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."  Romans 6:23.

God's will for man is to come to the truth of the gospel as presented by Paul.  "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:4 [see the context in verse 1 thru 7.

Sidebar:  In verse 1 Corinthians 15:1 I see the word ye and you are used.  Do those two words have the same meaning?  No, check a good dictionary and see. " You" is a pronoun in the second person.  But when I read "ye" it is a plural pronoun in the second person, this explanation is multiplied also in John 3:3 through verse 7.  In verse 3, "thee" is as if one were to use the word "you".  But in verse 7 "thee" and "ye" are both used. Unfortunately in most new versions of the scriptures, this distinction is lost.  So then when one reads the verse a different understanding is taken.

People will parrot what they have been told by others that sounded good at the time without checking what it means and how it is used.  Accept what God has given us in His "Word" the Authorized King James Version, is all that s needed for truth and Godly righteousness.

I recommend a Bible-based fellowship online;  shorewoodbiblechurch.org.  There are many sermons listed for Sunday mornings, evenings, and Wednesday evenings, plus other programs conducted by that feellowship.

Rightly divided or handling ???

2 Timothy 2:14-16     Authorized (King James) Version:   “ Of these things put  them  in remembrance, charging  them  before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit,  but  to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane  and  vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.” There is in the military a directive that when one receives conflicting orders one will follow the last order given.   Really that makes a lot of sense to one who has sense, but therein lies the rub. Background:   the phrase above in verse “15” reads “rightly dividing the word of truth”.   Modern versions will read “rightly handling” instead of “dividing”.   Those two words have different meanings as seen in Hebrews 4:12 “even to dividing asunder”.   If a person d...

God's good pleasure in you

Philippians 2:13 (KJV)   “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of  his  good pleasure.” It is our responsibility to allow God to be God in our lives; we needn’t worry of our situations, we need to learn:   “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”   2 Timothy 1:12.   What things do we suffer?   Does it matter, really in the light of eternity what is our present suffering, large or small:   “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time  are  not worthy  to be compared  with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”   Romans 8:18.   Do we not have a promise from God concerning trails:   “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God  is  faithful, w...

Whose faithful?

"God is faithful,"  1 Cor 1:9;  "But the Lord is faithful,"  2 Thess 3:3;  " I'm sure not but He is.  When I fail He doesn't, He is faithful.  When I'm distraught, being weak in faith, He is faithful.  I will, can, must depend upon Him in all that I do; Looking for that blessed hope, the soon appearing of my great God and Savior, the LORD Jesus Christ.  He is my life, for I was crucified with Christ and risen, I no longer live now, but the life I now have is by His faithfulness to me that I have my being.  He is faithful to Himself, He can't deny Himself.  He is faithful to His Word that He cannot be separated from. I'm not in Him by anything I could have done, its all His work, it's all about Him and none of me; it came as a gift, a free gift.  I can't take pride in anything,  but to glory in Him.  For all things were made by Him and for Him, in Him all things are. It's impossible for Him to lie, in Him is no dark...
