To "rightly divide the word of truth'

John 8:31-32 [Authorized King James Version]  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”  Romans 15:4.  All scripture is written for us but all scripture is not written to us.  “Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:14-15. We are to rightly divide scripture and adhere to the doctrine for us in this time, this dispensation.

We must (continue in Hs Word) by the Holy Spirit place scripture in the dispensation we presently live in.  “For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,  if ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:  how that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,  whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)  which in other ages [times past] was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;”  Ephesians 3:1-5  How was that “knowledge in the mystery” received?  “But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Galatians 1:11-12.

Note:  Peter’s gospel given to Israel:  “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out [Acts 2:38], when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.”  Acts 3:19-21.  It reads “which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.”  This was delivered to Israel as prophesy, things foretold to come.  Times past (Ephesians 2:2); But now (Eph 2:4) and Ages to come (Eph 2:7).  Peter gave “times past” in Acts 3:19. The four so called gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke John, James, Peter, Jude and John; of “times past” & “ages to come”.  Those were all prophesied by Old Testament prophets and their apostles.  But now are delivered by the Evangelists, Pastors and teachers.  The church that we are in if made a new creation [1 Cor 12:1] began on the road to Damascus with Paul [Acts 9 and 1 Tim 1:16].

The “but now”.  Paul received and told us But now [Romans to Philemon]  in  Galatians 1:11-12, and Paul is our Apostle  “For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:” Romans 11:13.

What is Paul’s gospel?  “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.  In this dispensation the “But now” we are to believe the gospel given by Paul to us.  Remembering that “In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.”  Romans 2:16.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”  Romans 1:16-17

“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:  to God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.”  Romans 16:25-27.”

Peter’s gospel come by prophets of the Old Testament and was presented to Israel following John the Baptist’s proclamation of the coming of the and now here, Messiah;  “which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began  Acts 3:21b

Paul’s gospel came by the direct revelation of the risen LORD Jesus Christ and was a mystery given to Paul and him alone.  “Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, Romans 16:25.

Those are not the same and scripture must be “rightly divided” to the program God has instituted for us in this present time.  We will not change God nor His program for the world’s salvation.  We must change our minds, believe God or be lost!

Do what to be saved?

Acts 16:29-31 Authorized King James Version [AKJV]:   'Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said Sirs, what must I do to be saved?   And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."   The question that has plagued man thought out history; what must one believe to be saved?   Believe the gospel which is what?   " Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1Corinthains 15:1-4.   To believe that t...

Which Body?

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things  done  in  his  body, according to that he hath done, whether  it be  good or bad. Ephesians 4:4 There is  one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; The word “body” has many definitions.   In 2 Corinthians 5:10, Strong’s #4983 defines body as “used in a very wide application”. First look at 2 Corinthians 5:10, and remove the italics.   Italics are not scripture but an addition made by the King James translators to make the flow of or the reading of easier.   So, without the italics;   “ For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things in body, according to that he hath done, whether good or bad.   My question was how do I define this word “body”.   Is it the physical body or as per Ephesians 4:4a; “...

Who Provides?

JEHOVAH-JIREH In Hebrew “JEHOVA-JIREH is defined as “The L ORD my Provider”.   The word “provider” as used here isn’t a given.   The item being provided must be believed to be authentic and is capable of doing what is promised. Until one believes God [ But without faith  it is  impossible to please  him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and  that  he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Heb 11:6] no spiritual and little physical profit is gained.   First then, what must one believe? That God is and what He says to an individual is important, is truth,   [Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word  is truth. John 17:17]. Next, that He is faithful to do as promised [ God  is  faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.   1 Cor 1:9          There hath no temptation taken you but such as is...
